Obituary of John W. Clickner

John W. Clickner, 73, of Horseheads, NY, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at home. He was born in Troy, NY on March 6, 1951 the son of the late Rev. Kermit and Ruth (Sprague) Clickner.

He graduated from Mansfield High School, received his Bachelors Degree from Penn State University and later his Masters Degree from Elmira College. John was involved with the Peace Corp and AmeriCorps VISTA program from 1972-1975. He taught Earth Science and Chemistry at Odessa-Montour Central School for 30 years, retiring in 2012. He was a member of the Montour Falls Moose Lodge.

John married his wife Beverly on August 4, 1990 in Hector, NY. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Joel A. Clickner.

John is survived by his wife of 34 years, Beverly; daughter, Tanis D. (Jerry A.) Quick of Mt. Pleasant, MI; sisters, Elizabeth Clickner of MD and Jean Clickner of Pittsburgh, PA; brother, Daniel Clickner of Pittsburgh, PA; two grandchildren, Jacob Quick and Kalynn Dice; five great grandchildren, Adam, Cam, Lane, Ryleigh and Alayna.
