Obituary of Ruth Dibble

Ruth Ash Dibble (Granny), age 97 of Brewerton, NY, passed away peacefully at Iroquois Nursing Home, Syracuse, NY, on March 1, 2013. She was born May 7, 1915 in Wyalusing, PA. She was predeceased by husbands Thurlow J. Ash and Howard Dibble and step-daughter Dolores VanBuskirk. Ruth is survived by Jacquelyn Crowley of Brewerton, NY, and Gary (Barbara) Dibble of Vestal and Murlyn (Patricia) Dibble of Virginia. Grandchildren are Brian (Tricia Mattice) Crowley of Brewerton, Matthew (Kristina) Crowley of North Syracuse, Renee (Christian) Schibler-Crowley of Zurich, Switzerland, Christopher (Ann) Crowley of Maryland, David (AnnMarie) Dibble of Washington, Lori (John) Hart of North Carolina, Patti (Dennis) Bartkowiak of Buffalo, NY, Michael (Tara) Dibble of Florida, Amy (James) Marquette of Virginia, Katrina (Manuel) Gonselves and Peter (Tricia) VanBuskirk of Massachusetts and several great-grandchildren. Ruth graduated from Elmira Business Institute and worked as an inspector at Eclipse and Westinghouse where she retired from. Before moving to Brewerton, Ruth lived 60 years on Church Street in Odessa, NY, attended the Odessa Methodist Church and for many years went to the Senior Center for lunch being picked up by the site's van, driven by her good friend, Rick. Granny, as everyone called her, loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her pride and joy. Ruth in her leisure time spent hours listening to her books on tape provided by the Albany Library for the Blind. Family and friends are invited to the Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, Montour Falls, NY for calling hours on Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 1 - 3 PM. Funeral service will follow at 3 PM with interment at the Montour Cemetery immediately following the service.
