Obituary of Joyce M. Ray

Christmas is the time for giving. The greatest gift is life and giving of one's life back in return. On Christmas Eve, December 24, 2020, Joyce M. Ray, went back to be with the Lord; after a battle of kidney failure, infections, dehydration and a broken hip. Even though Corning Guthrie Hospital, Schuyler Hospital and Arnot Hospital did their best to quicken her passing, she survived to make it home and die in the arms of her husband, Frederick H. Ray of 61 years, and the presence of her family Joyce was born in Coudersport, Pennsylvania, after a family tragedy, Joyce and her twin sister June were adopted by Richard and Alice Reese, who moved to New York. Joyce was predeceased by her biological and adoptive parents, some of her foster brothers and sisters as well as some of her biological brothers and sisters. Joyce is survived by her husband, Frederick Ray; son Greg Ray; daughter, Julie Ray-Walter and Fresh-Air daughter, Rhonda Mays; grandchildren, Eric (Emily) Hubble Walter, Arin/Bear (April Grimes) Walter and Alin (Sheryl Carson) Walter; great grandchildren, Jaiden Louis, Tyler William, Elora Rose, Adaline Mae and Ezra James Walter; elder sister, Betty Mallett (Tenn), twin sister, June McMann (Fla); in-laws, nieces and nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held in the spring at a date and time to be announced.
