Obituary of Helen Conkright

Conkright, Helen (Ellison) of Lowman, NY, formerly of Watkins Glen, NY. Our dearest Mom was reunited in Heaven with the two loves of her life, her husband John and grandson, Erik Franzese. She passed away from declining health at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA on August 26, 2013. Helen was born January 10, 1927 to Homer and Minnie Ellison. Helen leaves her devoted, loving, always there for each other daughter and son in law, Debra and Brent Andrews, of Lowman, NY. Her step grandchildren, Cameron, Carrie and Colby Andrews and her sister-in-law, Ellen Hulslander of New Port Richie, FL. Helen has many special nieces, nephews and cousins who meant the world to her; along with her feline companions and they are missing her. Helen touched the lives of many friends everywhere , especially in her hometown of Watkins Glen and most recently her supportive and caring neighbors in Holly Park Terrace, especially Joyce, Frances, Charlie and Sue, Ron and Nikki. She was predeceased by her husband John of over sixty years, her grandson, Erik Franzese, her sister Frances Ellison and parents Homer and Minnie Ellison. Helen retired from Watkins Glen Central School with twenty years of service. Her earlier years were spent at Ellison's Souvenir Shop and Taxi Service across from the Glen. She loved playing cards, bowling, fishing and traveling with her husband, family and friends. Helen was a life member of the Mechanics Club and the Moose Club of Montour Falls, NY. The family extends tremendous thanks to the entire staff of Robert Packer Hospital for their care, kindness and compassion during this difficult time. Calling hours will be at the Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls, NY on Friday, August 31st from 4-7 PM and her funeral service will be held there on Saturday, at 10 AM with the Rev. Sheila Price, Officiating.
