Obituary of Annella Wickham

Wickham, Annella Jane (Robinson) Odessa, NY, Age 94 passed away peacefully on June 27, 2013 at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born in Akron, Ohio on June 19, 1919. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Sheldon Wickham, her sister, Francis Eileen Robinson and her parents, Lee Haas Robinson and Nella Ann Shackleton Robinson. Annella moved to the Washington, D.C. area as a young girl. In Washington she graduated from Roosevelt High School, Temple Business College and Attended classes at George Washington University. In Washington she had worked in government during the Roosevelt administration prior and during World War II. She had worked in this time frame of Secretary of State James F. Byrnes, General George C. Marshall Jr., General Charles H Bonesteel III and Secretary of State Dean Acheson. In Odessa she had been an active member of the Odessa Methodist Church Choir, Schuyler County League of Women Voters, PTA, OX5 Club and other local groups. Annella enjoyed playing cards and took her bridge games very seriously. She enjoyed a good sense of humor as she had one herself. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls, NY on Sunday, June 30, 2013 from 1 - 3 PM. Her funeral service will be held there following visitation at 3:00 PM. The Rev. Jennie Bleiler will be officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Odessa Catherine United Methodist Church, 305 Church St, Odessa, NY 14869 or to the national Multiple Sclerosis Society, PO Box 4527, New York, NY 10163
