Condolences
Dear Family and Friends of Bonnie Stewart,
Please accept my condolences on her passing. I began working at the Tompkins County Planning Department in 1980. As one of a handful of young staff in our 20s, we looked to Bonnie for directions on how to get things done in the County system. Bonnie had a good sense of humor and was committed to doing things correctly. After I started the County's rural bus system, Bonnie answered many phone calls from people trying to use our two-bus service. TOMTRAN routes expanded to the rest of the rural towns and the number of calls grew too. I was largely oblivious to the impact this had on her regular work. She was all in for providing good customer service. I really enjoyed working with Bonnie. She freely offered good advice on our life predicaments too. In a very real sense Bonnie enabled the department and me to succeed. For all of the above, I am very grateful for Bonnie Stewart.
Sincerely,
Dwight Mengel, Ithaca, NY

To Barb, Diane, Doug, and families,
What shock to hear from you yesterday about your Mom's passing. I have many fond memories of both your Mom and Dad and what great friends they were with my parents. From your Dad's building the addition to the barn on our home farm to hearing of their exploits to Nashville and at bowling tournaments.
Will always remember and be grateful of what good care they took of my parents after we moved south, and particularly how the whole family kept an eye on my mother after Dad passed. Our thoughts will always be with you and of them.

I have many wonderful memories of Bonnie from our days as young girls on Grandma's farm. Time spent in the orchard, following the cows and gathering eggs. Time spent with Earl and Alfred. All of us giving Grandma and Uncle Clair a fit. Although we lost touch after we grew she will always be one of my favorite cousins. God's speed, Bonnie. Rest in peace.
With love from Judy
