Obituary of Mary L. Markley

Mary L. Markley, 82, of Montour Falls, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019. Born on July 30, 1937 in Rural Mineral Point, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Catherine (Clauer) Bloom. She graduated from Mineral Point High School. On August 1, 1959, she married George L. Markley, he being just discharged from the Air Force. Mary loved family get togethers and cooking special dishes for family and friends. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, and taking drives to view the scenery. Her hobbies included crochet, needlepoint, puzzles and reading. Surviving is her beloved husband of 60 years, George L. Markley; children, Jon P. Markley, Cheri E. Markley Church, Joel P. Markley and Jody P. (Kari) Markley; siblings, Bernetta (Bud) Anderson, Betty Poad, Gilbert (Linda) Bloom and Maureen Ubersox; twelve grandchildren, Mike (Kelly) Markley, Mark (Jessie) Markley, Matt Markley, Parker Church, Rylee Church, Braxton Church, Joshua Markley, Joseph (Celia) Markley, Margaret (Kenny) Rhodes, Timothy Markley, Joe (Kym) DeNardo and Dylan Markley; twelve great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Jacque P. Markley, and by her brothers-in-law, Joe Poad and Lyle Ubersox. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 6-8 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls. A private funeral service will be held by the family. Burial will be in Montour Cemetery.
