Obituary of Christina M. Dean

Christina M. Dean, 65, of Alpine, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a short battle with cancer. She was born in Corning, New York on July 4, 1954, the daughter of George and Dorothy Maricle and attended school in Watkins Glen. Christina worked at Lakeside Nursing Home in Ithaca, NY for many years. She enjoyed loving times with family and friends, BBQ's, fishing, holidays, spending time with her husband at local casinos, beaches, and any family gatherings. She enjoyed crochet, and made many blankets for family and friends. Christina was a very selfless person that put everyone before her. She was predeceased by her parents, sisters, Georgia Chilson, Jane Hines, Nina Calkins, Joanne, Dawn and Julie Maicle, and by her father-in-law, Elbert Dean. Surviving is her husband of 35 years, David L. Dean; two daughters, Jamie Wood/Clarke, and Kelli (Brian) Buchholz; four sons, George Wood, Jon (Colleen) Wood, Chris Dean and Casey Dean; two sisters, Mary (Lanny) Calkins and Dorothy Maricle; two brothers, Henry (Kelly) Maricle and Charles Maricle; mother-in-law, Beatrice Dean; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, with a special uncle, David (Penny) Russell. In keeping with Christina's wishes, there will be no services. A private graveside burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, Montour Falls, NY.
