Condolences
There are many memories I have of Aunt Ruth growing up. I remember having many holiday dinners at Aunt Ruth's and Uncle Hugh's house. She always made amazing lamb chops and grape pies. I remember spending time on the seneca lake, catching my first big bass on their dock with nightwalkers we found in her garden. I remember spending summers next her pool and listening to her stories and memories of family and friends. Aunt Ruth was always a kind and patient woman that loved her family and friends. You will truly be missed and always remembered. We love you and will miss you! Love you, Cheryl
I started visiting Aunt Ruth and Uncle Hugh when I was seven, and have warm memories of learning to fish on their Seneca Lake dock. I remember Aunt Ruth was fond of wearing delicate flowered shirts and white pants, and never expected her to be an expert at digging through dirt to find the best night crawlers (live worms for bait.)
Knowing her my whole life, she could always surprise me with some new story and make me laugh. Visiting her last December, I asked what she did all day. She said, “Oh, I just sit here and think”. I said, “All day? What could you possibly think about ALL DAY.?” And she replied, “My dear, I have ninety seven years of memories!”
She was wonderfully generous and warm, and I’ll always remember her quick wit and honesty. Sure will miss you Aunt Ruth.
Ruth was a loyal, caring and fun to be with sister-in-law. I recall going , with her, to see & care for her aging aunt. She was always concerned with those in need. Her care of, and devotion to hubby ,Hugh, never failed. She received that devotion from her nephew Clayton in these years of confinement which was a comfort to all who loved her. Our visits were limited to phone calls these past few years . We laughed every time as we recalled old times and re-told the old jokes in with the new ones we had heard. May God speed her spirit to it's owed reward.. I'm missing her already...Carol
