Obituary of Amanda J. Hoyt

Amanda J. Hoyt, 84, of Cayuta, NY passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Harrisburg, PA on February 5, 1934, the daughter of the late Raymond and Cecil (Hainesworth) Chilson, and grew up on Plank Rd. On June 1, 1967, she married Rufus Stanton Hoyt, Jr. Amanda worked for National Homes, Wreath Factory, The Falls Home, and retired from Cornell University after 20 years. She enjoyed bowling, softball, crocheting, going to the casino, watching NASCAR on Sundays, raising her kids and visiting with family. She was predeceased by her husband Rufus Hoyt, Jr., granddaughter, Macelyn Marie Hoyt, stepson, Rufus Stanton Hoyt, III "Sonny"; stepdaughter, Linda Clugstone; and by her eleven siblings. She is survived by her two sons, Randy (Christina) Hoyt and Andy (Brandi) Hoyt; grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, Kirk, Taryn and Austin; great grandchildren, Alex, Sam and Kassitie; former daughter-in-law, Kellie Hoyt, and by many special nieces and nephews, especially Cheryl Zenewicz, Patti Ackley and Butch Sites. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 10:00-11:30 am at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls, NY. Funeral services will begin at 11:30 am followed by burial in Bradford County Memorial Park in Towanda, PA.
