Condolences
Dear Uncle Jack - we miss you and will remember you with love. I can still hear you saying, “Well, isn’t that somethin’!” when we were sharing stories around the table when you came to visit us in Virginia. When the grownups would stay up late talking and laughing, playing bridge, it was the best! Tell Poppy hi and know we will keep your memory alive!
There was a time when "Mr. C", as I respectfully (and sometimes timidly) called Jack Callahan, that he was visible to me almost daily. His son Matthew was my best friend, the Godfather of my son Shane, and the best man at my first marriage. Although it has been a LONG time since those days, you get to know someone pretty well with that kind of exposure. He was, and will always be, a part of my growing up and life. Henry Street has lost a benchmark and a funny man.
My heart goes out to the Callahan Clan - the physical journey is done. The memories will go on forever.
Rest in peace, Mr. C. Say Hi to Matt.

My condolences to each of you and your family. Imagine living in a world free of sickness, suffering and death. It is possible, for the Bible assures us of such a world and we can trust in Jehovah God’s word for he is able to fulfill whatever he promises. (Isaiah 33:24, 55:11 and Revelation 21:3, 4) Your family are in my prayers.
Mr. Callahan was a wonderful person, great neighbor and friend to my father. He will surely be missed. I am so sorry for your loss.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields
and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

sincere condolences to Shirley and all of Jack's Family
I loved our philosophical facebook discussions and learned much from you. You were such a character and knew how to make me laugh. I am a better person for having known you and I will continue to love your family.
My heart is heavy with the knowledge that my well-loved brother Jack has passed on and we won’t be discussing the news of the world each week. One of the finest of men, he was a hero to me, to my husband and to my children. I admired him for his honesty, moral courage, wisdom and kindness. We loved him very much and will miss him greatly. Rest iin peace, Jack. You lived your life with grace and dignity. Well done. Much love, Katy
There’s a lifetime’s worth of memories in my head — all of them wonderful ones of my Uncle “Jacket.” This one is of going on Seneca Lake on his boat. We were so excited because it had a little cabin to go up and down in and we could ride very fast. We stopped at a point and were allowed to jump off into the lake wearing our life jackets. That’s a good memory—the other not-so-good part was, when we jumped into the 30ft. water, our feet touched the weeds and we all thought there’s something down that would pull us down (also, little rolly-polly me had trouble getting back in the boat). We will miss you Uncle Jack. Thank you for all the blessings you gave us.
