Obituary of Harland Lee Stephens

Harland Lee Stephens, 87, of Montour Falls, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility. Harland was born in Canisteo, NY on May 5, 1931, the son of the late Miles and Bernice (Potter) Stephens. He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Betty Jane Henry, in April 2001. Harland was a lifelong entrepreneur, ranging from Pepsi-Cola distribution to real estate, to antiques. He loved dancing, wood carving, and writing poetry. Harland is survived by his children, Dale (Lisa) Stephens of Hampton, VA, Yolanda (Billy) Peters of Sieverville, TN, and Dirk (Debbie) Stephens of Montour Falls, NY. He was also grandpa to eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. A special thanks to Dr. Borzell and Seneca View Skilled Nursing for the outstanding care given to Harland. A private service will be held with his family. Arrangements are being handled by Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, Montour Falls.
