Condolences
Ms Sue,
My heart goes out to you, dear friend, as you have suffered great loss this past year. We will certainly be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks ahead. We LOVED the memorial video tribute you put together for your dad. "Coach" was such a large figure in the lives of so, so many over his more than 30 years of teaching and coaching. I wish there was a way of being able to compile the collective driving records of all the students he taught driver ed to over the years. I am certain they would far surpass the national norms for good driving in every area!!! To this day I 'hear' his advice in my ear whenever I'm behind the wheel! Your mom and dad were very special people. May they rest in peace, and be forever on our hearts!
Blessings.
Gary & Norma
The Davis family have always been very special to us. Jack and Grace were best friends of Del's parents, Charlotte and Del,although they were younger. Grace shared Charlotte's birthday and they had lunch together to celebrate. Jack and Del Sr. were great friends. In Del Sr's last couple of years Jack was a faithful visitor. To say he is special is too little, but I will say that for now.
Susan, I so enjoyed our visit yesterday. I think your dad would be happy that we connected so well. Thanks for all of your sharing. I pray that your life will finally settle down and bring you less losses.
With love, Jeanne
Susie,
I was very sorry to hear of the loss of your father. I visited your parents about 1 1/2 years ago when I was in Horseheads. I always loved to hear the stories your father had to tell about times with my father, Maurice Wilcox. Your father was the only one I knew who remembered my father. At that time he gave me the honey bucket from Ray C. Wilcox that you bought for him on E-Bay. It was such a considerate thing to do. Thank you to both you and your father.
My mother doesn't remember much, but she was very upset to hear about the death of both of your parents.
Sincere condolences on the loss 2 such nice people. Linda
"Coach" Davis was one of the finest men I've known. He was an excellent teacher, coach, and friend....always easy-going and available to talk to. He had a great sense of humor and, also, a great sense of fair play. He taught me much more than how to operate a motor vehicle. I wonder how many people got a college education due to his efforts. I'm sure he will be missed by many and I offer my sincerest condolences to his family and friends.
I have many fond memories of Mr. Davis as a teacher and athletic director. He was a gentle soul who commanded respect by his mere presence. An excellent role model and great story teller. He taught me lessons behind the wheel and in life. Lessons that I passed to my children. His spirit lives on. It was an honor to have known him.
Dear Susie and family, I am so very sorry to hear of your dad's passing. While I never had him as a coach, I did have him as my driver's ed teacher. He made the serious business of learning how to drive a great deal of fun. He was always very kind and definitely patient with those of us learning how to drive. Oh yes, and also quite brave! How blessed you were to have had him as your dad, and how blessed we were to have had him as our teacher.
My condolences and prayers go to the family. Coach Davis, you were a wonderful person and great teacher. You listened well and impressed on us what we needed to remember for our entire lives. You were a wonderful coach to more of us than you may know. Rest in peace; you have earned it.
My deepest condolences to the family. I have only the fondest of memories of Mr. Davis. He was kind and full of fun with his students. My driver ed teacher, the best! God Bless!!
Condolences and prayers to the family. God bless you, Mr Davis. Every time I drive a car I hear your voice warning me what to look out for. Rest in peace.
Jack was a great person, friend and coach. He will be missed.
Susie - So very sorry to hear of the loss of your dad. I'm sure everyone who graduated at OMCS when he was there as a Coach or Driver's Ed Instructor have great memories of Mr. Davis. Again - sorry for your loss.

I am sad to hear of Jack's passing tonight. I never had him for a coach but he was a friend and i deeply respected him. I wish at the time i was in school and he was still a coach i had been doing more things with him. Like Charlie Martin they led by example and now i look back and know how privileged i was to have had them a role models. He was my drivers ed instructor and somehow we both survived my training. Having that job shows you how much patience he had. I got to see him the last two years and know of his love for his wife, his school, and his Yankees. I know he and Grace are together again.
He will be missed
Coach, thank you for everything you did for so many, you lived a great life, rest in peace with your beloved Grace. You've earned rest, well done good and faithful servant. I'm a better person for having been under your guidance.
I have very fond memories of Mr. Davis. Good coach, better drivers ed teacher. I still hear his voice as I pull into traffic, "look, look again, and when you're all done looking look again!" He will be missed.
Sorry to hear about your dad Suzy.
He taught me driver ed and I still follow his advice today.
He made a great impact on many people.
So sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Davis, What a modest and humble man he was. He influenced generations of students at OMCS.( Odessa Central when I was a student). My condolences to his family and friends at this time.
I have such great memories of Mr. Davis from my Odessa and driver’s education days as well as seeing him at the club and playing cards with my mom and dad. Always had something positive to say!!
With deepest sympathy.
Susie, I am so sorry to learn of your Dad's passing. He was a phenomenal man!! I had him for Driver's Ed in 1958, and his class was always a lot of fun. He had a great sense of humor. I was always amazed that he remembered all of us at all the different reunions we attended. He was a great coach and a great mentor to many! He will truly be missed! Thinking of you and sending love and hugs, and prayers to help you through!
My heart goes out to you and your family during this time. Please know that you friends and family are there to comfort and support you during this difficult time and may your loving memories bring you a peace in the days ahead. Know also that our father of tender mercies care for you and promises that we will see our dear loved ones again. (John 5:28, 29)
Mr. Davis was a great teacher, neighbor, & friend. When running into him, he always remembered my family members & other close connections. I remember when my children were little, they were so impressed I knew *the* Jack Davis (of the Jack Davis Gym).My sympathy & prayers are with his family.
A genuine warm human being and true legend. He will be missed and remembered by thousands. My condolences and prayers to Susan and family. Heaven received a very special angel.
Sorry to hear about the passing of coach Davis. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I played both basketball and football. I also had him for drivers ed in 1960. He was a very positive influence in my life. I know he is in a better place and once more will be reunited with the love of his life Grace.
