Obituary of Margaret A. Zuris

Margaret Anne Zuris, 61, of Montour Falls, and formerly of Elmira, entered unto rest on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Schuyler Hospital after a long battle of illness. She was born in Elmira, NY on August 8, 1955, the daughter of the late Arthur Zuris, Sr. and Leona T. (Jones) Zuris. Margaret attended Southside High School in the 1970's, and made a life as a homemaker. She enjoyed time spent with friends and family. Margaret enjoyed playing computer games and Gin Rummy. Before her health declined, she used to love bicycling around Elmira, visiting numerous friends and family. Another passion was playing Bingo every week. She was predeceased by both parents; former husbands, George and Richard (Webby); and son George III; sister, Yvonne, and brothers, Wesley and Chuck. Margaret is survived by two daughters, Helen and Leonard Skinkle of Corning, and Elsie and her partner Gee of Elmira; a son, Austin of Elmira; sister, Mary and Duane Hanville of Elmira; brother, Arthur and Sherry Zuris of Waverly; five grandchildren, Brittany Hathaway and partner Kymel, Cody Hathaway, Jasmine Hathaway and partner Jason, Alexieus Hathaway and Eryk Skinkle; two great grandchildren, Donnie Somers and Tristyn Hathaway. She had numerous nieces and nephews, along with cousins, aunts and uncles. Relatives and friends are invited to Helen and Leonard Skinkle's home at 34 South Elm St., Corning on Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 3-6 pm.
