Obituary of Pauline B. Mangus

Pauline B. "Polly" Mangus, 97, of Burdett, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born in East Smithfield, PA, on June 15, 1919, the daughter of the late Clarence and Zeta Bourdette. She married William A. Mangus. Polly managed the machine shop she and her husband owned in Pine City, NY, and owned and operated her restaurant in Pine City. She also worked at Remington Rand in Elmira, NY. Polly and her husband retired in Burdett, NY and operated Mangus Vineyards for many years that she thoroughly enjoyed. She made many friends. She is survived by her step grandson, Jeffrey Mangus and his wife Sherry; and by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband in 1982, and her siblings, Anna Searfoss, Evelyn Guthrie, Clarence Bourdette and Saphrona Bourdette. As per Polly's wishes, there will be no services. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Polly loved animals so donations may be made to the Humane Society of Schuyler County, P.O. Box 427, Montour Falls, NY 14865. Arrangements have been entrusted to Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, Montour Falls.
