Condolences
Dearest Argetsinger family, Jeans passing (as well as your father and brother) leaves such a hole in this world. They are all legends that have left a huge mark in this world. Never doubt she still feels your love. My deepest understanding and compassion goes out to your entire family.

I don't often use the word "lady," but Jean was a LADY of highest quality. I admired her so much.
Dearest Argetsinger Family,
What an elegant lady. I enjoyed visiting her with my Aunts Grace Gaige and Helen Hammond. She was always so welcoming and interested to know more about our families.
Please accept my sincere sympathy at this time of your great loss.

My heart goes out to all of you on the passing of a true matriarch. Strength, resilientcy, and kindness are a few of the words I think of to describe Jeannie. I wish I knew her better. The pictures are a wonderful tribute to a life well lived.
I am saddened for your loss. What a remarkable woman. Love and hugs from Stephanie and Kathy

My condolences to the entire Argetsinger family. I only spoke with her once at the IMRRC and she praised my journalist wife. I'll never forget her kind words. Thanks for everything, Mrs. Argetsinger. Godspeed!
Long ago, I was looking for an expert witness on race track safety and was referred to Cameron Argetsinger "in your backyard" by knowing folks in Daytona and St. Louis. From that reference grew a professional friendship with first, Cameron, then JC, and along the way Sam. Each was/is unique, talented and passionate. However, I never fully grasped the power of the Argetsinger family until I met Jean. She is the soul of that remarkable clan -- in many good ways, the Barbara Bush of the Argetsingers. Schuyler County is a better place because of Jean and her family.

How I treasure each visit that I had with Mrs. Argetsinger these last few years. Her memory was incredible, her grace, poise and elegance remain qualities to emulate, and her love of family leaves a legacy for others to aspire to. Digniified to the end, I would imagine, I will miss her tremendously. Much love to all of her family and thank you for sharing this wonderful woman. Karen
To all the Argetsinger Family,
Sincere condolences on Jean's recent passing. To say she was one of a kind is an understatement.Few people have created as many noteworthy achievements, first among them her lovely brood of nine children.
I know my mother Kathryn had fond memories of her visits during race weekends, including kitchen duty for visiting team members!
Please accept our prayers and comfort at this sad moment. I'm disappointed to find myself unable to pay my respects in person tomorrow, but she will always be well remembered.
Regards, Geoff and Susan Herald
Jean Argetsinger will always be an inspiration to me professionally and personally. She was, and will continue to be, a true community leader whose influence will continue to reach through generations to come. The Watkins Glen and Schuyler County community will always be richer because she gave so much of herself. My sincere condolences to her family for their loss.
My sincere sympathy to all of Mrs. Argetsinger's family. I first met her when I began work at The Watkins Review and The Watkins Express (yes, they were still separate newspapers) as a typesetter. She would come in shortly before deadline with her copy and I would type it up - she would always come back later to proofread it herself, but she seemed to find my work up to her standards. Over the years, we met many times because she truly knew the meaning of service to the community. I was happy to help, again in a typesetting capacity,on her project with Mrs. Pat Ellison to commemorate the 150th anniversary of St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church. I know that she will truly be missed in the community, as well as by her family.
Peter and family, so sorry, your Mom sure was one heck of a Lady,
I have such wonderful childhood memories of Mrs. A. I thought the world of her and so did my mother. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.
My deepest sympathy on Jeans passing. While I have never had the pleasure of meeting her in person I have been blessed to enjoy some of the many efforts she accomplished in the racing community. My thoughts are with you and the family at this time JC
JC, Joan, and Family-
I am on a flight from Orlando to Vegas and just read that your beloved Mom passed away. You have my deepest sympathies.
I had the privilege of getting to know her (and Pat Ellison- what a pair!) through my involvement with the Red Cross. Of course I saw her at racing events, and at the research center, but it was her pride in Schuyler County, and her demands that the Red Cross chapter pay attention to the county, and not just the bigger areas around Elmira, that will always stick with me. She was a relentless advocate for so many who never met her.
I think I know what you and your brothers may have gone through as children. I remember her glaring at me and Dr. Tague during Red Cross board meetings when the doctor would be whispering jokes to me to try to get me to laugh out loud.
Your mom will be missed. But both of your parents' legacies will live on forever in what they did for their local community, and the racing world itself. Last weekend I attended the Autosport International Race Car Show in Birmingham, England, and saw the wonderful Lotus 49 exhibit. All because your parents brought a crazy idea to reality, and infected so many of us with racing fever.
God Bless Jean and Cameron Argetsinger - Michael and Sam, too.
