Obituary of David Giordano
David Michael-Harry Giordano, 71, of Watkins Glen, and formerly of LaGrange, CA, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2016 in Ithaca, NY. He was born in Charlottesville, VA on April 10, 1945, the son of the late Michael and Barbara (Julian) Giordano. He graduated from Branford High School in Branford, CT. David served three tours of duty in Vietnam with the US Navy from 1964-1968, where he was a gunner on a Huey helicopter and on a swift boat. He was also a MCB 4 SeaBee and received two purple hearts. He worked as a fiberglass fabricator and illustrator, and at PG&E (Pacific Gas & Electric) in Los Angeles. He was a former member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Branford, CT. He was a member of the Italian racing team, Vette Set- a corvette club, and an illustrator in Gasser Wars Magazine (dragster magazine). He was predeceased by his wife, Laura Ash Giordano, his parents, and grandparents, Beatrice (Clinton) Julian and Dominic (Anna) Giordano. He is survived by his wife Carol Giordano of LaGrange, CA; sister, Carolyn (Giordano) Knowlton of Pre-Emption Rd., Watkins Glen and Susan Giordano MacPherson of Suffield, CT; and eight nieces and nephews. Burial will take place in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Livermore, CA. David's family has requested that anyone wishing to honor his memory, to take time to visit a veteran and thank them for his or her service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Vedder and Scott Funeral Home in Montour Falls.
