Chuck (and Ruthie) welcomed me into their home and hearts in 1981 as a young exchange student. I remember those fun times often and it saddens me greatly to think that Chuck has now passed. Thank you for the love and support you gave me when I was in your home. Ruthie, I send it all (and more) back to you at this very sad time.

I will always have memories of Charlie working out in the yard from when I was little and watching him from my playhouse window and my Grandparents home. He would see me up there and he'd always send me a wave. My condolences to Ruthie and the rest of the family.

Chuck was an amazing man who would give you the shirt off his back without blinking. Kind, generous, proud and soft spoken, he loved his family and his farm. You will be missed Mr. Hayes.
