Obituary of Barbara Church

Barbara E. Church, 68, of Montour Falls, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016 at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born in Montour Falls on November 19, 1947, the daughter of the late Louis and Nellie (Elliot) Funk. Barbara loved tending to her husband and family. She enjoyed socializing, going to McDonalds in Watkins Glen, and enjoyed the music in the park. She was a member of the Burdett United Methodist Church. She survived by her husband of 39 years, William F. Church; daughter and son-in-law, Celesta (Paul) Lindsay of Burdett; two sisters, Nellie Monroe of Dundee and Janice (Dave) Freeman of Horseheads; granddaughter, Nicole Lindsay; three step grandchildren, Paul Christopher, Joshua and Justin Lindsay; and several nieces, nephews; and great nieces and great nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, November 7, 2016 from 12:00-1:00pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122, N. Genesee St., Montour Falls. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm followed by burial in Montour Cemetery. Immediately following the burial, there will be a dish to pass reception at the Burdett United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Burdett United Methodist Church, State Route 79, Burdett, NY 14818.
