Obituary of William Morgan
William C. Morgan, Sr., 85, of Odessa, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 18, 2016. He was born in Reading Center on August 25, 1930, the son of the late Arney and Eva (Bush) Morgan, and graduated from Watkins Glen High School. Bill served as a sergeant with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. After the service, he was a member of the operating engineers. He later went on to operate his own general construction and paving business for several years before going to work for the NYS Dept. of Transportation, retiring in 1992. Bill was a member of the VFW Post #2674, American Legion Post #676, the Mechanics Club, and Montour Moose Lodge #426.
Bill is survived by his children, Deb (Ron) Reid, Cheryl (Pete) Tavish, Sue Morgan, Bill Morgan, Jr., and Tom (Mary) Morgan; sisters, Barbara, Rosa and Eva; several grandchildren, great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by Doris J. Morgan on January 17, 2009, and by a sister Annette.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday from 4-6 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls. Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Union Cemetery of Hector. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Schuyler County Veterans Memorial Park.
