Obituary of Charles Masin

Charles D. Masin, 60, of Alpine, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 9, 2016 at home. He was born in Montour Falls on December 29, 1955, the son of Charles W. and Helen (Holik) Masin. Charles was a graduate of Odessa-Montour High School. He was employed at Walmart in Watkins Glen and previously worked at Toshiba in Horseheads. He was a member of CSA. He was predeceased by his parents, and by a sister, Marianne Kelley in 2002. He is survived by his sister, Helen Masin of Palmyra; niece and nephews, Charles (Amanda) Friends, Amy Kelley (Mitch Gleckner), Jonathan (Katherine) Nierenburg and Jason (Hida) Nierenburg; great nephews, Sean Masin Nierenburg and Colton Nierenburg both of New Hampshire, Daniel J. Iorio, Sean Kelly, and Xander Friends; great nieces, Shelby Friends of California, Madisyn Friends, JulieAnn and Jocelyn Gleckner; best friends, Terry Reynolds, Chris Bordenent and adopted granddaughter, Ava Reynolds; several cousins; and friends and co-workers at Walmart in Watkins Glen. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 5:00-5:30 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls. A memorial service will follow at 5:30 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the SPCA.
