Obituary of Tracy Jayne

Tracy C. Jayne, 91, of Tyrone, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015 at Guthrie Corning Hospital. He was born in Cayuta, NY on December 14, 1923, the son of the late Amza and Sarah (Grover) Jayne. Tracy graduated from Van Etten High School and went on to serve with the US Army Military Police during WWII. He worked at Ingersoll-Rand for 44 years, retiring in 1987. Tracy and his wife Marcie loved Square Dancing and were member s of the Gingham Squares. He played bass and rhythm guitar for the country group The Arcadians. He was also a former member of The Grange and a former Mason. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Marcie (McLean) Jayne; his children, Sandra Jayne of Minneapolis, MN, Robin Knowlton of Penn Yan, NY, Becky Horton of Beaver Dams, NY, Tracy Jr. of Tyrone, NY and Les Jayne of Lancaster, PA; a brother, Vincent Jayne of Gang Mills; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 from 12-1 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Beth Kottemann officiating. Burial will follow at Tyrone Union Cemetery.
