Obituary of Kathleen Lewis

Kathleen M. Lewis, 68, of Montour Falls, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born in Syracuse on September 3, 1947, the daughter of the late Edward and Madeline (Montuori) Shea. She graduated from Liverpool High School with the Class of 1966. On June 24, 1967, she married Alton Lewis in Liverpool, NY. They enjoyed 32 years of marriage until his sudden passing in the line of duty on November 29, 1999. Kathleen was proud of her family. She loved raising her sons, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a receptionist in the Elmira City School District for many years. She was a communicant of St. Mary's of the Lake Church in Watkins Glen. She enjoyed volunteering at the Montour Falls Fire Department and helping with their many fundraisers over the years. She is survived by her three sons, Michael (Vicki) Lewis of League City, Texas, Kevin (Roni) Lewis of Montour Falls, and Thomas (Jenny) Lewis of Watkins Glen; three brothers, Edward (Joan) Shea of Boca Raton, FL, Dennis Shea of Sugarland, TX, and Timothy Shea of Bar Harbor, ME; a sister, Patricia (Bob) Hines of Baldwinsville; special sister-in-law, Donna Shea; six grandchildren, Philip, Kara, Derrick, Daniel, Tyler and Emma; several great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, September 27, 2015 from 4-7 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 28, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's of the Lake Church, 905 N. Decatur St., Watkins Glen. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility, 220 Steuben St., Montour Falls, NY.
