Obituary of Brett Emilo

Brett M. Emilo, 44, of Montour Falls, NY and formerly of Middlebury, VT, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 29, 2015. He was born in Burlington, VT on August 29, 1970, the son of Louis and Susan Emilo, Jr. Brett graduated from Middlebury High School in 1988, and attended Johnson State and Southern New Hampshire University. On August 25, 2001, he married Kate Farnsworth in Middlebury, VT. Brett worked at JBM Construction in Ithaca, and previously worked at his family's business, Emilo Building Supply. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, riding his Harley, and spending time with family, friends, and his dogs Lilly and Bosley. He was an avid Red Sox and Cowboy fan. Brett is survived by his wife Kate of Montour Falls, NY; his parents, Louis and Susan Emilo of Myrtle Beach, SC; three brothers, Chris Emilo of Middlebury, Jason (Stephanie) Emilo of Malaysia, and Tony Emilo of Myrtle Beach, SC; and three nephews, Trevor, Oliver and Sebastian. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, June 5, 2015 from 4-6 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Fall, NY. A service will follow at 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial services will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Middlebury, VT at a later date.
