Obituary of Dorothy Kennedy

Dorothy E. (Swingle) Kennedy, 88, of Beaver Dams, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Towanda, PA, the daughter of the late Harold and Gertrude (Ellsworth) Swingle. Dorothy was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family and friends. She was a member of the Grace Lee Wesleyan Church in Beaver Dams where she was a part of the food bank and Busy Bees Quilting. Dorothy is survived by her children, Sandra (Leon) Callahan of Beaver Dams, Donald (Cathy) Kennedy of State College, PA, Lewis C. (Maria) Kennedy of Beaver Dams, Marguerite (Dennis) Morse of Pine Valley, Martin (Diana) Kennedy of Lansing, and Todd (Cherri) Kennedy of Beaver Dams; sisters, Clara Wheaton of Montour Falls, and Jean (Leslie) White of Florida; brothers, Henry (Lois) Landmesser of South Carolina, Jacob (Mary Lou) Landmesser of Horseheads, and Howard (Pamela) Landmesser of Southport; 21 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Lewis E. Kennedy in 1984, and by two sisters, Emily Wellman and Emma Tinker. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 from 4-7 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Grace Lee Wesleyan Church, 2075 Chamber Rds., Beaver Dams. Interment will be in Beaver Dams Cemetery followed by a dinner at the church.
