Obituary of Betty Searles

Betsy (Betty) Searles, devoted and beloved wife, mother and grandmother left this earth on December 12, 2014 for her next creative endeavor. She leaves behind to uphold her extremely high standards of kindness, her husband Butch (Wayne) Searles, her children, Tina Marie (Joel) Beckman, Chip (Michelle) Searles, Todd (Sarah) Searles, and her treasured grandchildren in order of appearance, Samantha Stevenson, Nathan Stevenson, Logan Searles, Hailie Searles, Trevor Searles, Hannah Brennan and Olivia Searles. Born in 1950 in Germany, with deep family roots in Arkansas and New Jersey, she was an Army brat that as a young girl settled in the hills of Hector, NY for the rest of her life. Here in the hills of Hector she found her passions for horses, art and her best friend, Judy Robbs. Her wonderful paintings and stained-glass can be found all over the world. Many of you know her from ARC Veterinary Clinic where for years she worked with the animals and friends she loved. Services will be private. Anyone wishing to honor Betsy is encouraged to donate to a scholarship set up in her name by her family. Please make checks payable to the Betsy Searles Art Scholarship and send to Trumansburg Central School District, Att: Treasurer, 100 Whig St., Trumansburg, NY 14886.To leave the family a message of condolence, sign a guestbook, or to light a "Candle of Remembrance", please visit www.vedderandscottfuneralhome.com
