Shirley, Claudia and Marty, please accept my condolences on Roy's passing. He was great guy and a terrific asset to this community. He will be missed.
Claudia, We were sorry to learn of the loss of your father. Thinking of you at this difficult time.
Dearest Shirley: I am so sorry for your loss. I know how much you and Roy enjoyed being together and sharing life. He is watching over you and making sure you're staying out of mischief. Brenda
To the Craver Family, We will remember Roy fondly in his many capacities - visiting the farm, church, farm bureau. He gave so much to the community. Our sincerest condolences
It has been a real pleasure for us to have known Roy. He was a great salesman, a dedicated farmer and a great asset to our Schuyler County community. We will miss his great sense of humor and his friendly ways. Our thoughts are with Roy's family during this difficult time. Best wishes Roy!
Shirley:
Very sorry to hear of Roy's passing. I have fond memories of coming to lunch with Gordon after Sunday school. I am 76 and doesn't seem possible that it was 60 years ago that I was baling hay for Roy.(Not fond memories of that!)He was a first class guy.
Regards,
Bob Knight
There is no single story that I can tell. I only remember "Mr. Craver" as a very nice, gentle person. Growing up in a rural area, there are not many men that a boy interacts with. Roy was a neighbor and I saw him frequently. He offered me a job helping with haying in the summers. I never knew him to be other than kind and gentle. I never heard him raise his voice or saw him angry. He was well-liked by everyone and that was a good role model for me and other boys in the neighborhood.
Very sorry to learn of Roy's passing. He and Shirley were friends of my parents, since 1953, when they came to Montour Falls to begin their career in the Methodist ministry. I, too, remember visits in the summer and swimming in the pool! One thing I will always remember about Roy was his wonderful voice (very unique and pleasing to the ears). Peace to you all.
Dear Shirley and family, I am so sorry to hear of Roy's passing. I always enjoyed chatting with him when he would stop by the office. Such a nice man, always a gentleman. He will be missed by many. My sincerest condolences to all of you.
Claudia, I am so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. I will regret not going up the hill to see him like you suggested when I was there. Please give your mom a hug for me. Your mom and dad were great friends of my parents. I wish I could be there. Take care of yourself.
Shirley, Claudia, and Marty-- So sorry to hear of Roy's passing. I remember spending quite a bit of time at your house and pool as I was growing up. Also getting the hay in the barn for the cattle and trimming weeds under the electric fence!! And sledding down the pasture hill in the wintertime. Roy was always so easy going and had a dry sense of humor. I will miss him but know he is reunited with his other loved ones and his neighbors on the "hill" that have gone before him. My sympathy and love---- Dean Kent
Our sincere condolences to Shirley and the entire Craver Family. Roy was not only a loyal friend but a real gentleman. We have such fond memories of Roy...it was always a pleasure to see him at his office or mine...We know how much the entire community will miss him
