Obituary of Dorothy Tompkins

Tompkins, Dorothy June Montour Falls: Age 96, passed away at the Seneca View Nursing Facility on Sunday, November 3, 2013. Dorothy was born on June 28, 1917, a daughter of the late Sherman and Nellie (Winton) Breedlove. She is predeceased by her brothers, Ernest and Richard Breedlove, sister, Elsie Barr, special nephew, William "Billy" Rosewall, husband and father of her children, Loyal H. Wickham and second husband, Claude Tompkins. Dorothy is survived by her son, David (Terri) Wickham, Tularosa, New Mexico; daughter, Sandra (David) Sidle, son, John (Jackie Lynn) Wickham both of Alpine, NY; 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren & 2 more on the way , 15 great-great grandchildren, sister, Jean Ferguson, Wyoming, brother-in-law, Jessie Tompkins, Alpine, NY. Dorothy loved her large family of children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, she just loved sitting quietly and watching all the interaction better known as chaos; Dorothy's best legacy is her family. She was a member of the Montour Methodist Church, Eastern Star Fern-Tyrone Chapter #142, Catharine Mother's Club, Philathea Class, Widows Group and the Home Bureau. Family and friends are invited to Vedder & Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee Street, Montour Falls, on Thursday November 7, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A funeral service for Dorothy will follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Laurel Hill Cemetery immediately following funeral service.
