Obituary of Shirley M. Fraboni

Shirley M. Fraboni, 82, of Alpine, NY, went home to be with the Lord and her loved ones on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Sayre, PA on September 13, 1941, the daughter of Leslie and Alice (Reynolds) Boyce and attended Odessa-Montour Central School. On April 29, 1972, she married Benjamin Fraboni in Cayuta, NY.

Shirley was a machinist at Axiom in Ithaca, NY for 38 years, retiring in 2004. She loved to take cruises, going to casinos, train rides, camping and playing Bingo. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, listening to music, Jamborees, dancing, buying clothes and playing the clarinet. She loved her dog Jinxy, who was her companion and loved getting together with family and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents Leslie and Alice Boyce; husband, Benjamin Fraboni; sons, James and Jeffrey Maphis; and brothers, Leslie, Charles, Frederick and Elwood Boyce.

Shirley is survived by six daughters, Carlotta (Ronald) Wilson of Alpine, NY, Renee Hust (Don) of Lockwood, NY, Cindy Lou (Mark) Scott of Nicholson, PA, Evelyn Fletcher of Wellsville, NY, Janice (Frank) Konier of Williamsburg, VA and Michelle (Michael) Anderson of Jacksonville, NC; a son, Joseph Maphis of Elmira, NY; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; and by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, July 29, 2024 from 12-2 pm at Vedder-Scott & Zinger Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls, NY. Shirley's funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in Montour Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Dementia Society of America, P.O. Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901.
