Obituary of Gary Magura

September 20, 2012- Gary W. Magura, 51, of Burdett, NY passed away peacefully in the early morning hours. Gary was born in Montour Falls, NY on April 18, 1961. Gary graduated from Odessa-Montour High School in 1979 and later went onto college at Alfred State School of Carpentry Science and graduated in 1982. Gary was a Utility Oiler at Borg Warner, Inc. where he worked for many years. Gary was predeceased by his father, Michael Magura in 1986 and mother, June L. Magura in 2012. Gary was an outstanding father, son, brother, brother in law, uncle, nephew, friend, etc. to all who crossed his path. Gary was passionate about his family, hobbies, country and faith. Gary lived his life in total servitude to others. Survivors; daughters, Stephanie Magura of Liverpool, NY and Casie Magura of Watkins Glen, NY; brothers, Timothy Magura of Montour Falls, NY and Michael Magura of Elmira Heights, NY; sister and brother in law, Kathy and Wayne Shaffer of Montour Falls, NY; uncle, Kenny Landry of Watkins Glen, NY; aunts, Liz Landry of Watkins Glen, NY and Sophie Clemens of Montour Falls, NY; nieces, Robin (Kyle) French of Horseheads, NY and Andrea Kupernin of Groton, NY; and nephew, John (Christy) Kupernin of Sanford, NC. Gary also had many great nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be Monday, September 24, 2012 from 3:30-6 PM with funeral service at 6 PM at the Vedder and Scott Funeral Home located at 122 N. Genesee Street in Montour Falls, NY.
