I made new friends when CareFirst allowed me to volunteer as a companion with John Q. - he and his wonderful wife Joanie made me feel most welcome in their home. We discovered many similar interests and other people we happened to know. During my visits we listened to music and enjoyed hearing John Q. with his talents playing the harmonica and whistling. His smiles would brighten the room as did moments when Q would show his love for Joanie.

He was well known for special qualities going back to high school - his sense of humor one of them, which his students when he was a teacher, appreciated.
