To Brian’s family – I am saddened to learn of Brian’s passing, my sincere condolences to you all. I lost touch with him almost 4 decades ago when I left the area, but I still have great memories of him as a basketball teammate, a friend, and, most importantly, an exceptionally nice guy with his moral compass pointed in the right direction. From what I read, it appears he endured a long struggle in recent years, but fought a courageous fight. It does not surprise me at all, it’s totally within character of the guy I knew back then, and the memory of his example will inspire others to preserve in the face of challenge.
