Obituary of Dorothy Hubbell

Dorothy (Anderson) Hubbell of Montour falls, NY passed away at the age of 92 on Saturday, February 4th, 2012 at Schuyler Hospital/ Seneca View, following an extended illness. A memorial service will held at the Odessa Baptist Church for family and friends on Saturday, February 18 at 12:30 PM followed by a time of visitation and celebration of Dorothy's life from 2 to 4 PM at the Montour Falls Moose Lodge. Dorothy was born to Lawrence and Ruth Anderson on June 4, 1919 in Newfield, NY. She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford Hubbell in 1986, and her son C. Michael (Mick) Hubbell in 2004, as well as her parents and brother's William and Don Anderson. Dorothy is survived by her daughter Claudia Roll of Odessa, NY, grandson Michael (Nicole) Roll, great granddaughter Tiffany Roll of Corona, CA and several very special nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Following Dorothy's retirement from the Odessa Post Office she continued to stay busy doing endless volunteer work and was honored as "Volunteer of The Year" in 1994. Some of her volunteer work included Schuyler Hospital Auxiliary, American Red Cross, RSVP "Meals on Wheels" program, provided transportation for her elderly friends for medical appointments, knitted newborn caps and sailor caps for "Seaman of the World" and was always there to help friends and family whenever she was needed. Dorothy enjoyed many things including her cats and kept busy knitting, crocheting, sewing, playing cards, and various hobbies and crafts. She was an active member of the Odessa Baptist Church for over 70 years.
