Obituary of Harmonei J. Tuttle

Harmonei Jean Tuttle, 21, of Burdett, NY entered into her final resting place at Arnot Ogden Medical Center on Saturday January 28th, 2023 surrounded by family. She was born in Elmira, NY on May 22, 2001. As a small child Harmonei could be found climbing all over her sister, filling buckets with salamanders and garter snakes, or watching Dora the explorer. Harmonei attended Watkins Glen School, where she was involved in several sports throughout her school years. As a young child Harmonei played soccer, football, basketball and softball. In Middle school and high school she played volleyball, basketball and was a cheerleader. Harmonei was an amazing artist and had an incredible talent for writing. She loved to spend any time she could with her family, but her pride and joy were her little sister and her three nieces. Harmonei was a giver. Any time she possibly could she found things to give to other people whether it was something she made or something someone else was getting rid of she always thought of other people who may be in need. Harmonei could always be found outside with her cousins and sister building forts, going on adventures, swimming, four wheeling or playing in the mud. Harmonei was predeceased by her best friend and loving cousin Tyler J. Churchill, her maternal grandfather Gary W. Tuttle, maternal grandfather Harry T. Landon, paternal Grandmother Helen Zafonte, Great Grandmother Jean L. Pike and her very best furry friend and beloved companion Shadow Grey. She is survived by her mother Gretta (Judson) Smith of Watkins Glen NY; father Christopher Zafonte of Burdett, NY; sisters Haleigh (Justin Brace) Porter of Dundee NY, Stella Zafonte of Watkins Glen NY and Brynn Smith of Watkins Glen, NY; brother Brandon Harley of Bryn Mawr, PA; paternal grandfather Ernie Zafonte; maternal grandmother Laurie Landon; maternal uncles Gregory W. Tuttle of Burdett, NY and Gary M. Tuttle of Burdett, NY; nieces Jolene Ann Holley, Ellie Grace and Lauretta R. Brace of Dundee, NY; cousins Courtney, Brittany, Jordan, Zach, Kelsey, Laurie Jean, Linsey, and Diane as well as many other special family members too numerous to name them all. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday February 10th, 2023 from 4-7pm at Vedder-Scott & Zinger Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls, NY. A memorial service will be held at Reynoldsville United Methodist Church, 5099 State Route 227, on Saturday February 11th, 2023 at 11am.
