Stephanie (Vergoth) Lapriore, 66, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at home in Montour Falls, NY. She is the oldest of five children adopted by John P. Vergoth, Sr., Esq., and Janet H. Vergoth, who predeceased her. She is also predeceased by her brother John, Jr., and her in-laws, Betty and Mike Lopriore. She graduated from Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA in 1977 with a B.A. in Criminal Justice and worked in that field for thirty years. Steph was the first female Police Officer for the City of Port Jervis, where she met the love of her life, Mike Lapriore. They have been married since 1980. Together they have one daughter, Jamie (Dennis) Thompson and two granddaughters, Cordelia and Kenley, all of whom made her extremely proud and she loved dearly. She is especially grateful to Mike for the care he has given to her and the sacrifices he has made during her health issues. She is also survived by two sisters: Christina (Greg) Myruski, their son and daughter-in-law and infant granddaughter; Claudia (Jeffrey) Gross and their son and daughter; a brother Derek Vergoth of Boise, Idaho, special cousin Wendy Gomcsak; her friend for over 50 years, Cindi Cherry; and friends from New York to Florida. According to the wishes of her family, there will be a memorial service at Vedder-Scott & Zinger Funeral Home 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls, NY on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 11:00 am followed by refreshments at the Montour Falls Moose Lodge, 2096 State Route 14, Montour Falls, NY.
