Obituary of Robert C. Searles

Robert C. Searles, age 86, of Alpine, passed away at home April 14, 2022. Bob was born on January 15, 1936 in Trumansburg NY to the late Charles John Searles and Marjorie Marie Leonard Searles. Bob retired as a mechanic in Ithaca. In his spare time, Bob loved working on the family farm with his brother and helping others with farming. Bob was an avid NASCAR fan, he loved to hunt, bird watch and garden. He was always so proud of the big beets he grew. Bob was a gentle soul and very caring. He was predeceased by his longtime friend, Emma, son Robby, his brother Wayne, sisters Margie, Pat and stepson David. He is survived by his son Rick (Kristen) of Ithaca, daughters Tammy (Jimmy) of Louisiana and Nancy (Jimmy) of Louisiana. His sisters Donna (Tom), Wanda and Sandy. Special nephews Chip (Michele) of Mecklenburg, Todd (Sara) of Trumansburg, and special niece Tina (Joel) of Lodi and stepchildren, Joanne (Bob), Andy (Sue), Carolyn, Elberta (Buck), Jim (Janet), Bruce (Connie), Charlie and Linda. And his special doggy friend, Bow Wow. Bob has several nieces and nephews, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bob will truly be missed by all that loved and knew him. Bob's interment will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at 11:00 am at Laurel Hill Cemetery, County Road 10, Alpine. Following the interment, the family will receive friends and family at his home, 3218 State Route 228, Alpine from 11:30 am-2:30 pm.
