Obituary of Bruce E. Covert

Bruce E. Covert, 80, of Watkins Glen, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2019. He was born in Montour Falls on July 13, 1939, the son of the late George and Mary (Overbaugh) Covert. Bruce worked for New York State Parks for thirty three years, and later at Cornell University for fourteen years. He was a great musician and wonderful singer. Surviving are his wife of 16 years, Kathy Covert of Watkins Glen; two sons, Bruce Covert, Jr. of Binghamton and Terry Covert of Trumansburg; grandson, Dylan Covert of Trumansburg; step-son, William J. Smith, III of Horseheads; cousins, Stan Covert of Trumansburg, and Tom (Kathleen) Overbaugh of Trumansburg; and special friend, Trace James of Watertown. In keeping with Bruce's wishes, there will be no services. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Vedder and Scott Funeral Home in Montour Falls.
