Obituary of Genevieve C. Goossen

Genevieve Catherine (Bulkley) Goossen, 84, of Montour Falls, NY, entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Schuyler Hospital, with her husband Harry Goossen by her side.

Gen was an amazing cook, and gardener of flowers. She loved the color yellow. Gen was an amazing mom, grandma (gigi), and great grandma to many, along with several foster children. She was a woman of many talents, the biggest being the love for her husband and family.

Gen is survived by her loving husband of 42years, Harry Goossen; her children, Darlene Rappleye, Harold (Vivian) Rappleye, Randy (Tina) Rappleye, Kimberly (Dale) Delong, Ron (Rhonda) Goossen, Debbie (Ted) Pipe, Lyle (Rachael) Goossen; siblings, Shirley (Dick)  Horton, Beverly Parker, Clyde (Debbie) Bulkley, Sydney (Gordon) Mattison; sisters-in-law, Joann Bulkley and Marlene Bulkley. Gen had several grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, whom she loved all very much.

Gen was predeceased by her parents Clyde and Alice Bulkley; son, Brian Rappleye; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Robert Champion; brothers, David Bulkley and Thomas Bulkley; brothers-in-law, Charles Parker and Fred Goossen; and sister-in-law, Kay Goossen.

Heaven gained a beautiful Angel. Gen will be missed by many but her memories and love will carry on in each and every one of us.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025 from 3-6 pm at Burdett Fire Department, 4124 Lake Ave., Burdett, NY. Contributions may be made in her memory to the Burdett Fire Department.
