Obituary of Mary Lou Ruvolo

Mary Lou Ruvolo, 89, of Watkins Glen, NY, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025. She was born in Montour Falls, NY on May 9, 1936 the daughter of Sante and Sylvia Conte.

Mary Lou received a business degree from Alfred State College. On August 17, 1957, she married Nick Ruvolo at St. Mary’s of the Lake Church in Watkins Glen, NY. Mary Lou was Executive Secretary at Westinghouse-Eaton Corp for 35 years, retiring on June 1, 2001. Mary Lou was a communicant of St. Mary’s of the Lake Church, and a member of St. Mary’s Guild. She enjoyed bowling, traveling and was involved with Ruvolo Tours.

She was predeceased by her husband, Nick Ruvolo in 2018; mother, Sylvia K. Conte in 1983; father, Sante Conte in 1946; brothers, Frank Conte in 1965 and Sante Conti in 2024.

Mary Lou is survived by her daughters, Lori (Rocco) Zingaro of Webster, NY and Linda Mizerak of Watkins Glen, NY; grandchildren, Nicholas (Stephanie) Mizerak, David Mizerak(James McCauley), Tyler Mizerak, Matthew Lusardi, Alex Zingaro and Vanessa Zingaro (Benedetto DiGregorio); great grandchildren, Carter and Landon Mizerak, Elizabeth “Ellie” and Trenton (TJ) Mizerak, Denver and Melody DiGregorio; sister-in-law, Sally (Murphy)Conti of Watkins Glen; and niece, Shelly Conti of NC.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s of the Lake Church, 905 N. Decatur St., Watkins Glen, NY. Private burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mary’s of the Lake Church.
