Obituary of June K. Jennings

June Elizabeth Koehler Jennings, of Watkins Glen, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. She was born on June 13, 1941 to Herman and Marie Mills Koehler. She was the first of four children. While young, her family moved to Steuben County, NY when her parents purchased a dairy farm. She grew up there, as a "farm girl".

June attended Arnot Ogden School of Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse at the Arnot until her retirement. During her training, she met James Jennings. They were married in September of 1962 and enjoyed 56 years of marriage. June and Jim had two daughters, Sara Baumgartner (Russell) and Laura Bingell (Leif).

June was predeceased by her husband, parents and two sisters, Elsie Swartz and Kathy Walker. She is survived by her two daughters, her brother Ken Koehler (Karen), close cousins and many nieces and nephews.

June's life was full. She had many interests including her pets, crafts, puzzles and reading. She was an avid student of the Bible and was eager to share her Bible-based hope with others. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1993 and was an active member of the Watkins Glen Congregation, where she was beloved, for over 25 years.

June was firm in her belief of Jesus' promise that there would be a resurrection on the "last day" (John 11:24). She spoke often of this hope of living - healthy and vibrant - in a peaceful earthly paradise forever.

"The righteous will possess the Earth and they will live forever on it." -Psalm 37:29

A memorial service will be held at the Watkins Glen Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2590 State Route 414, Montour Falls, NY 14865 on Saturday, May 17 at 2pm.
