Condolences
We are all very lucky to have had him in any measure. Truly one of a kind wonderful type that he made a lasting memory and impression with whatever time that was gifted. His delightful authenticity and exuberance shinned through in his smile and interactions. His radiating positivity set something of a precedent for us all.
Even feeling I could have known much more about him and would have liked that chance; it was not to be. I do feel blessed though for my having known him at all and as much as I was able. Because any time with Eddy was surly quality time

I met Ed while working at on 'The Hill' many years ago. Lost touch after he retired, except for a few chance conversations when I ventured into Elmira. I spoke to another retiree who informed me of Ed' death. I retired two years after he did.
Good times, good memories.

One of a kind. Respected by every CO in the joint. RIP have one with Davey
I didn't know Eddie very well having only just joined the marina a few years ago. I can say for sure he was very kind and welcoming to everyone. The times that I did have a conversation with him we talked mostly about his family and how very proud and amazed he was of his kids. And of course, he gave all the credit to his "beautiful wife". I am a firm believer that our true being is in endless consciousness...which means... Eddie is with everything and knows everything now. Many loving thoughts to all of you.
Sorry for your loss. Eddie was a great guy.
Ellen and family - I am heartbroken to hear about Eddie’s passing. Every time I came walking down the dock, he was always ready to joyfully say “Hi Katie!” whenever he was there. He always asked how my brother was doing and how cruises were going on the True Love. He loved asking my dad about what projects he was working on. In other words, he genuinely cared about his dock neighbors.
He was very generous and allowed me and my brother to borrow his kayak “any time we wanted.” He always waved at the crew and passengers on the True Love from his boat when we did our fly-bys along the break wall. It was a little highlight at the end of a cruise. We could count on him to catch Tomfoolery whenever we docked, even if he knew we didn’t need the help. He wanted to help and be there to welcome us back to port. I knew I was safe whenever I spent the night by myself on Tomfoolery and Eddie was on his boat in the next slip over.
I’ll surely remember Eddie every time I walk down Dock 4. My heartfelt sympathies are with Eddie’s family and friends.

Ellen:
So very sorry to hear of your loss. Eddie was a wonderful neighbor to have on Dock 4. I always enjoyed chatting with him when he was savoring his time on his boat. Please accept our condolences, and don't be afraid to ask Eddie's marina friends for any help you might need now and in the future.
Give Norman a pat on the head for me, too. My family is fond of German Shepherds as well. In fact, we have two of them! Eddie always enjoyed them a great deal on those occasions when they would visit me on my boat!

Dear Ellen and family,
We are so sorry to here about Eddies passing. We were lucky to have the privilege of knowing him for 8 years at the marina on dock 4. Eddie was a kind sole who was always willing to help us out with anything. He also had a good sense of humor and would pick on me (Nancy) which I didn’t mind. I usually got him back anyway. Eddie used to come over and talk to us telling us stories of his time in Vietnam and about his time at the correctional facility. I can say that we would not have been disappointed if he had left out some of the details. We talked about gardening, world affairs, dogs, sailing, shooting squirrels, his time growing up, family, and anything else that came up. He was so proud of his children. Ellen was the love of his life and his best friend and he said that she is the best cook in the world. One thing that Eddie was not was shallow. His emotions ran deep. We will truly miss seeing him at the dock and how he always kept tabs on us to see how we were doing. His spirit will live in all of us that have had the pleasure of knowing him.

Ellie, I cannot put into words the sadness I feel. We had some great times back in the day. May you be surrounded by all the wonderful memories of him in these upcoming days ahead! Even though we haven't seen you both in recent years we think of you both fondly! Sending you much love Ellie & family, Judy & Roger
Ellen and Family, We are so very sorry to hear of Eddies passing, the marina won’t be the same without him. We had the pleasure of having our boat next to him for many years, he always greeted us with a smile and a big hello! Often times bringing treats for the doggies. He will be missed dearly ⛵️ Sail On!

I am so sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of meeting Eddie a few times Once when he helped me get a slip for the regatta then had to help me dock it , the entire time with a smile on his face! May your years of memories help ease your presence sorrow. Thinking of you all at this difficult time.
The marina may never be the same without hearing fellow sailors call out, "Eddie!," as he walked down the dock. Always ready to lend advice or a hand, the community will miss this fella.
It was clear during any conversation that he was a man who held a deep pride for his wife, children and K9s who are all marvelous souls as well. Rest easy, my friend.
