Obituary of Christopher Zafonte

Christopher Zafonte, 51, of Burdett, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at home. He was born in Oceanside, NY on December 17, 1972, the son of the late Ernest and Helen Zafonte. He graduated from Watkins Glen Central School in 1992.

Chris was a superintendent for Streeter Associates in Elmira for 25 years. He was a Union Carpenter Member Local 277 for 27 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Stella Zafonte of Burdett, NY; sisters, Cathy Thompson of Blairsville, GA, Tina Zafonte of West Babylon, NY, Theresa (Jeremiah) Snow of Alpine, NY, Mary (Randy) Aleshevich of Towson, MD, andDeborah Mumford (deceased); brothers, Kenneth (Diane) Burgess of Babylon, NY, David (Linda) Zafonte of St. Johns, FL, James Zafonte of Montour Falls, NY, Vincent Zafonte of Islip Terrace, NY, and Anthony Zafonte (deceased); stepdaughters, Haleigh Porter and Harmonei Tuttle (deceased); several nieces and nephews; and by longtime friend, Rachel Ziarno-Trojanowski.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 from 5-7 pm at Vedder-Scott & Zinger Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls, NY.
