Obituary of James R. Guild

James R. Guild, affectionately known as Jamie/Gilly, of Montour Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Jamie was 45 years old.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Allyson (Baird) Guild, and their three cherished children: Havana, Broderick "Brody," and Elijah "Eli." Jamie is also lovingly remembered by his parents, James and Rebecca Guild, sister, Erin Guild (Andy Schaefer), and in-laws, Rick and Sharmon Baird.

Jamie lived life with a spirit of adventure and a zest for the outdoors. His passion for dirt bike riding was matched only by his love for the Finger Lakes region, where he found both joy and solace. Jamie's life was a testament to living fully and embracing each moment with enthusiasm. He was known for his vibrant personality and a favorite saying that reflected his fearless approach to life: "If you're gonna be dumb, you've gotta be tough."

Gilly had many friends who were like family to him, each sharing in his passions and adventures. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 11th, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Vedder- Scott & Zinger Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls. A private burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jamie's memory to organizations that were dear to him: the Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association, the Humane Society of Schuyler County, and Finger Lakes Land Trust.

A celebration of Jamie's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will come together to honor and remember him.
