Clifton E. Ray, 83 of Alpine NY, passed away unexpectedly at his home on July 6th, 2024. Cliff was born in Elmira NY, on May 9th, 1941, the son of Clifton H. and Agnes M. Ray. He graduated from OMCS in 1960 and graduated from SUNY Morrisville, Automotive Tech in 1962. He worked for William Thom/Mullen Industrial for 50 years as a mechanical specialist. Cliff was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Sharon Conklin Ray in 2011, son Jeffery Ray in 2013 and sister-in-law Patricia Conklin in 2016.

Cliff enjoyed many years of watching high school sports, racing and going hunting. He took many trips to Carlisle each year for the Mopar, and muscle car shows with family and friends. Up until the last 2 years, you would see Cliff at one of the local diners drinking coffee and socializing.

He is survived by his children, Lori Ray, Cathy Fazzary (John), Jennifer Peppard (Christopher), Timothy (Michel) Ray; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; his brothers Fred and Ira; and sister Sharon Rounds.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 1:00-3:00 pm at Vedder-Scott & Zinger Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls, NY. His memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
