I was saddened to read that Elly Brown had died in the local newspaper. I had the pleasure of meeting Elly 7 or 8 years ago when she took on my daughter April as a piano/violin student. April had been playing piano for several years but the violin was new to her. We still have the old violin Elly gifted her, the case uniquely decorated (she encouraged April to "make it her own"). It was always interesting to see what new art projects Elly was into, and to sometimes hear Frank playing in the old shed in the back yard. Before starting lessons we had no idea what impact Elly and Frank had had on the local community and beyond. Apparently the school auditorium would be literally packed with people who came to hear concerts! I am glad that Elly died peacefully in her sleep and wish Frank and the rest of her family peace.
May your Mom rest in peace Linn. She was a very special lady and will be missed.
Dear Dr. Brown and family,
I was very saddened to read that Elly recently passed but was comforted to learn that she had passed peacefully in her sleep and was able to spend her last days at home with you, her beloved husband of 69 years. She was so talented and creative, and I remember being impressed with her artwork which I saw in at least one of your homes. Her musical talent was well known throughout the county. She was a lovely person, and her beautiful smile could brighten any room!
May your loving memories of her help to bring you comfort and peace during this difficult time. Please know that I am holding you close to my heart and all of you in my prayers.
With loving friendship,
